Dough Disco
Everyday in Acorn Class the children take a visit to the dough disco! These sessions are planned to support fine and gross motor control and develop muscles in preparation for handwriting skills.
We put on some pop music and the children then complete various exercises with the dough e.g. roll it, pinch it, twist it etc.The idea is that this will strengthen the children's fine motor control and help them to use and control a pencil.
The children are really enjoying these fun sessions and the adults are rather enjoying themselves too! Below is a link to the Dough Disco Family and a video of Shonnette Bason (Spread the Happiness) showing us all 'how it's done'!
To ensure everybody is safe please be assured we are currently using individual pots of dough with no dough sharing!
