Working across Schools

Federated Schools

From September 2013, Wimboldsley Community Primary School formed a Hard Federation with William Stockton School, Ellesmere Port. This partnership galvanised the work started over the previous years, where staff and pupils have joined together to ensure the continuous improvements in both staff development and pupil's learning.

Pupils meet up to work on joint projects to enhance learning and develop socially with peers. It allows a diverse 'relationship' between pupils preparing them for 21st Century Britain. Upper Key Stage Two pupils have the opportunity to participate in 'joint residential visits' as well as spending the day together at Chester University, understanding the benefits of lifelong learning.

Staff engage frequently either face to face of electronically. Both schools use the expertise that is on offer to improve the learning in both schools and outcomes for the pupils. Examples of this include moderation in Key Stage One and Two in writing, maths and science, additionally both school working jointly to achieve the Primary Science Quality Mark (PSQM).
