Horse Chestnut Class

Welcome back!

This year in Horse Chestnut we will be covering some fantastic, inspiring and exciting topic. Our topic is 'The Vikings' and much of our learning will be linked to this.

All children will be looking at the History of significant Vikings and Anglo-Saxons.

Additionally in we will be looking at the skill of comparing and contrasting difference and similarities.

In our Science work we are exploring 'Everyday Materials' and 'Humans' in Year 2. Year 3 will be investigating 'Light' and 'The Human Body'

In addition we will continue to study Jack and the Baked Bean Stalk  by Colin Simpson and complete a unit of work on The Owl Who Was Afraid of the Dark by Jill Tomlinson

Children in Horse Chestnut class will also be  focussing on spelling, grammar
